SAN DIEGO (4-9-16) — It was a perfect day for the West Hills Wolf Pack, as they mauled the Scripps Ranch Falcons 10-0 in 5 innings in non-league action, Saturday (Apr.9th).

The Wolf Pack rolled triple 10s on the day banging out 10 hits, scoring 10 runs and of those runs all 10 were RBIs.  The offensive onslaught started in the top of the first as they pushed across 6 runs to lead 6-0 early on.

Leading things off, BROOKE ROBERTS singled, stole second base, with one down KENDALL MARINESI (run) drew a walk, and ALEX GUAY (1-2, RBI) walked to load the bases, CAELI GIBBS (2 R) came in as a courtesy runner, up came RYLEIGH DOBYNS (2-4, 2 RBI, 2B) who proceeded to smash a double that scored both Roberts and Marinesi to make it 2-0, ALYSSA BUBAR (run) came in as a courtesy runner, and move Gibbs over to third, with runners at second and third BROOKE SNYDER (RBI, R) walked, MOANA PISIA (2-3, 2 RBI, R) knocked both Gibbs and Bubar in with a single to make it 4-0, Snyder advanced to third, ALEXIS HERRERA (1-3, RBI) singled scoring Snyder to make it 5-0.

It was back to the top of the lineup as West Hills had batted around.  Leadoff hitter Roberts walked and SIERRA SCHLICHTING (3-4, 3 RBI, 2 R, HR) singled scoring Pisia to extend the lead to 6-0.

Staked to a commanding 6-0 lead, Dobyns took the circle and established her dominance early on as she retired the first two batters via groundout and got out of the inning a couple of batters later when she got the punch out.  West Hills added another run in the top of the second as Guay led off with a walk, Gibbs came in to run, she would again steal second base, advance to third on a passed ball and score on an RBI groundout by Snyder to give the Wolf Pack the 7-0 lead.

The runs kept coming in for the Pack as they pushed across two more in the top of the third when Roberts drew a one out walk and Schlichting bombed a 2-run jack over the wall to make the score 9-0. The tenth run for the Wolf Pack came an inning later when Schlichting singled and she came around when Guay knocked her in with a single.

It wasn’t just the offense that clicked but also the pitching and defense. Defensively the Pack didn’t commit a single error on the day and backed the pitching performance by Dobyns.

Dobyns was in command all day as she went all 5 innings, gave up 0 runs on 4 hits while only walking 1 and fanning 2 Falcons on the day to garner her fifth victory on the season.
