Eastlake won twice and outscored Point Loma and Rancho Bernardo 10-2 during a statement week for the Titans.

CHULA VISTA — Eastlake entered the week looking up at Point Loma in the county computer ratings. The Titans finished it with two convincing victories and a stronger claim as the Metro Conference team to watch.
Eastlake defeated Point Loma, 4-2, and Rancho Bernardo, 6-0, outscoring the two opponents 10-2 during a 2-0 week.
Point Loma entered the week ranked seventh in the section computer ratings, six positions ahead of No. 13 Eastlake.
Hilltop also went unbeaten, Olympian and Otay Ranch earned one-goal victories, and Helix won twice during a productive week for the conference.
Eastlake knocks off highly rated Point Loma
Eastlake scored three times after halftime to pull away from Point Loma in a 4-2 victory Wednesday.
Sophomore Adriana Carbajal and seniors Megan Linck and Neisha May joined junior Emily Burgon in scoring one goal apiece.
Burgon assisted on two more goals, giving her four points, while senior Gwendolyn Goold added an assist.
Senior goalkeeper Emma Brown made four saves as the Titans handed Point Loma its second loss of the season.
Burgon was selected as Eastlake’s player of the game.
The Titans followed by scoring four times in the first half of Friday’s 6-0 victory at Rancho Bernardo.
Senior Aubrey Pond produced two goals and an assist, while Goold scored twice. Burgon contributed one goal and two assists, and junior Kareli Rascon added a goal.
Linck recorded an assist.
Burgon finished the week with two goals, four assists and eight points. Eastlake improved to 4-1-2.
Gomez, Jones power Hilltop
Hilltop matched Eastlake’s 2-0 week and outscored Escondido and Mira Mesa by a combined margin of 11-2.
Senior Hannah Gomez and sophomore Raina Jones each recorded hat tricks in an 8-0 victory at Escondido on Tuesday.
Gomez added three assists for a nine-point performance. Jones supplied one assist and finished with seven points.
Junior Miley Santiago and sophomore Paulina Chavez scored one goal apiece. Senior Elianna Meza contributed two assists.
Hilltop returned Thursday and edged Mira Mesa, 3-2, improving to 7-3.
The Lancers entered the week No. 22 in the county computer ratings.
Stalnaker delivers in overtime
Senior Mikaela Stalnaker scored both Olympian goals, including the overtime winner, as the Eagles defeated Mission Bay, 2-1, on Thursday.
The game was scoreless at halftime before both teams scored once in the second half. Stalnaker then supplied the deciding goal in overtime.
Freshman goalkeeper Allison Sardon made five saves and was selected as Olympian’s player of the game.
The Eagles improved to 3-2 after entering the week No. 18 in the section computer ratings.
Rivera, Rosete lead Mustangs
Otay Ranch rebounded from a 7-0 loss to Point Loma on Monday by defeating Westview, 2-1, on Thursday.
Senior Danika Rivera produced a goal and an assist, while senior Mia Rosete scored the Mustangs’ other goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Ariel Yuson made 10 saves for Otay Ranch, which improved to 4-3.
The Mustangs began the week No. 26 in the county computer ratings.
Helix finishes 2-1
Helix earned two victories during a three-game week, improving to 5-5.
The Highlanders defeated East County rival Granite Hills, 2-1, on Monday before falling to Mission Hills, 3-0, on Wednesday.
Helix closed the week Friday with a 3-0 shutout of Escondido.
The Highlanders have recorded five shutouts among their five victories this season. Helix entered the week No. 29 in the section computer ratings.
Around the Metro Conference
Bonita Vista defeated El Capitan, 6-0, on Wednesday.
El Capitan also dropped a 1-0 decision to Vista on Monday. Freshman Jazzy Romero scored the game’s only goal for the Panthers.
Granite Hills played its season opener against Helix, while Southwest did not play during the week.
Conference play begins Sept. 28.
