Daniels’ defense not enough for Red Hawks at Holtville

HOLTVILLE – The Mountain Empire Red Hawks traveled to the Imperial Valley to take on the Holtville Vikings for the opener of Manzanita League play.
Unfortunately, it would be a long bus ride home as they fell to the Vikings, 55-19.
Game-time temperatures were of the triple-digit variety but the Red Hawks were up to the challenge early. The first quarter saw the Red Hawks score thanks to a fumble recovery by WYATT DANIELS.
He would also snatch one in the second quarter and score.
Mountain Empire would also strike again in the third quarter as VICTOR PARRA would toss a 25-yard strike to WYATT MANN to finalize their scoring. Parra has nine touchdown passes this season.
The Vikings collected their first win of of the season and Mountain Empire would be left to still look for their first road victory of the season. The Red Hawks are now 2-5 overall.
