EL CAJON – Valhalla High has been renamed “Three-ball-halla this boys basketball season.
The self-annointed nickname for the the Norsemen is a worthy moniker.
Valhalla, the Grossmont Valley League champions, etched its name on top of the section list for most three-pointers made in a season on Friday night as senior DOMANIC scored 41 points, including 10 made threes in a 77-48 win over host El Cajon Valley.
The Norsemen now have 303 field goals from behind the arc this season.
, who was 10-of-23 from three-point range, also had 8 assists.
Senior guard JORDAN GAINES added 11 points, five steals and six rebounds.
Valhalla freshman MARCEL continued his late-season shooting success with three three-pointers.
Senior EVAN O’NEILL had six points and seven rebounds for Valhalla.
No. 2-seeded Valhalla (25-3) will host Southwest (El Centro) in the first round of the San Diego CIF Division III playoffs on Wednesday at 7 at The Thunder Dome.
The Braves, meanwhile, will travel to face Calexico (15-9) in an interesting 10-7 matchup.
