FLETCHER HILLS – Grossmont College will host a basketball doubleheader on Wednesday (Jan. 24), hosting San Diego Mesa College in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action.
tHE women’s game begins at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game, slated for 7 p.m.

FLETCHER HILLS — Palomar College raced to a double-digit lead by halftime, skating to an 89-70 triumph over host Grossmont in Wednesday’s (Jan. 10) Pacific Coast Athletic Conference contest.
For Palomar (6-10 overall,1-3 PCAC)), Spivey Word registered a gae-best 26 points, while Thomas Marcus tallied just three baskets yet scored 18 points. in the first conference win by the Comets this season.
Grossmont (3-13, 1-4 PCAC) received, the 17 points by Amari Leflore was the best among five scorers in doubl figures. However, 11-for-31 shooting in the first half doomed the Griffins.
Elsewhere, the MiraCosta men edged Southwestern, 76-69; San Diego City whipped Imperial Valley, 94-72; and Cuyamaca downed San Diego Mesa, 55-51 (no game infomration reported). SD Miramar had the bye.

OCEANSIDE 0– MiraCosta College tipped Grossmont, 48-46, at Crosswoods Gymnasium in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action onWednesday (Jan. 10).
MiraCosta snaps a 4-game losing streak, its last win came against a Griffins side that has been playing much better of late, thus were disappointed in the revenge situation.

FLETCHER HILLS – Four times this season,the Grossmont College men’s basketball team went down to te final seconds, yet failed to come through with a dramatic victory. On Wednesday (Jan. 3), the tables finally turned.
Elijah Williams converteda pair of foul shots with 14 seconds remaining, then teammate Tre Edmond grabbed a defensive rebound in traffic on a missed 3-point shot attempt, giving the Griffins an exciting 102-99 overtime decision over visiting Imperial Valley. It was Grossmont initial Pacific Coast Athletic Conference win of the 2023-24 campaign. BOXSCORE
illiams paced Grossmont (3-11 overall, 1-2 PCAC) with 17 points, while Brandon Tully added 14, but it was Tyrone Lesterwho tallied fiveof hisd 13 points in the extra session to gain the lead for keeps.
To close regulation time, IVC forward Tajeem Comeaux scored with 15 seconds remaining, but Grossmont missed a buzzer-beater to force the extra session. The Arabs then scored the first two baskets, but Grossmont went on a 12-5 scoring tun to claim the victory.
The game’s leading scorer was Amari Leflore of the Griffins with 23 points. For the Arabs, Arturo Tabarez led with 19 points, but was held to just two points in the OT.
Grossmont returns to action this Friday at PCAC co-;leading San Diego Miramar, starting at 6 p.m.
Cuyamaca Men
MiraCosta 100, Cuyamaca 60
The Spartans (8-6 overall) are 2-0 in PCAC play, resting a half-game behind San Diego Citry and San Diego Miramar. Cuyamaca (6-9 overall) fell into a fourth-place deadlock with Grossmont at 1-2 in PCAC play in falling for the fourth time in the Coyotes’ last five starts.
Kai Burdick was one of five MiraCosta players reaching double figures in scoring with 19 points. The Coyotes did not reports its game statistics.
Cuyamaca, which has a bye this weekend, next plays at Mesa on Wednesday, then entertain Grossmont on Friday, Jan. 12
