Bailey-led Griffins climb into state’s top 20 rankings

SAN MATEO (9-9-15) — Grossmont College’s season opening 52-10 victory over Southwestern College on Saturday (Sept. 5) landed the Griffins a No. 17 state ranking among community colleges.

 

One of the standouts in Grossmont’s 595-yard effort was sophomore wide receiver SERGIO BAILEY, a transfer from Southwestern, who burned his former teammates by catching 5 passes for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns.

 

Grossmont will hit the road for a Saturday (Sept. 12) non-conference contest at Pasadena City College at 6 p.m. The Lancers dropped their season opener to El Camino 31-23.
