Imperial (1-30-16) — The Grossmont College women’s basketball team finished out their busy week by facing an opponent they saw earlier in the week.  This time it wasn’t as happy.

The Griffin women made the 111-mile trip East on Interstate 8 to Imperial Valley College on Friday (Jan. 29) to take on the Lady Arabs.  The Lady Arabs had made the exact same trip on Monday in a makeup game from earlier in the season, when weather prohibited the team from making the trip up the I-8 West.

Grossmont came out flat and never recovered as they dropped the contest 48-35.

Griffin coach KAREN CAIRES said in a text that the team “need(s) a better performance shooting the ball.”

The loss drops the Griffins to 6-15 overall and 3-5 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.  On Wednesday (Feb. 3), the Green and Gold will finish their three-game road trek with a trip to Oceanside to take on Mira Costa.  The same team that Caires coached the Griffins to win number 200 under her tutelage just a couple of weeks ago.
