Matadors’ Anderson goes from zero to 25 in 24 hours

LA JOLLA (2-7-16) — DESTINI ANDERSON rebounded from a scoreless outing 24 hours earlier to pour in 25 points, grab 5 rebounds and make one steal to lead Mount Miguel to a lopsided 64-25 victory over Cathedral Catholic in a Coaches vs. Cancer contest at Bishop’s.

 

SATERA BATES led the supporting cast with 18 points, 6 assists and 3 blocks. She also dropped in four 3-pointers, which topped the team.

 

CAMARA DOUGLAS was big on the boards with 10 rebounds to go with 9 points.

 

This game was never close as Mount Miguel led 48-12 at halftime. The teams played with a running clock the entire second half.

 

Mount Miguel, which is tied with Granite Hills for the GHL lead at 4-1, won’t play again until Friday (Feb. 12) in a Grossmont Hills League game against crosstown rival Monte Vista.
