Pt Loma 9 Helix 5 – The Pointers led 5-0 after one, but Helix closed to within 6-5 at the end of three.

Monte Vista 15, San Ysidro 6 – Monte Vista improves its record to 1-1 with a home win against the San Ysidro Cougars. Leading the Monarchs was senior Troy Gunter with 6 goals. Goalie Jonathon Troung recorded 5 blocks for the Monarchs.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

Grossmont 9, Westview 7. Goals: Charles (W) 3, Kitts (W) 2. Saves: Lewit (W) 17.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

Monte Vista 15, San Ysidro 6 –  The Monarchs improve their record to 1-1 with a home win against the San Cougars. Leading the Monarchs was senior Troy Gunter with 6 goals. Goalie Jonathon Troung recorded 5 blocks for MV. The Monarchs trailed 1-0 after one, but led 6-3 at halftime.

El Cajon Valley 12, Southwest 11 – Goals: Flores (ECV) 6, Falcon (ECV) 3, Alcantar (ECV) 2, Finley (ECV) 2.

 

Wednesday, Sept 7

El Camino 11, Granite Hills 10

 

Tuesday, Sept. 6

Helix 12, Mar Vista 3 – The Highlanders scored 6 goals in the final period to pull away from the Mariners in Imperial Beach on Wednesday. Helix moves to 2-0 on the year.

Helix surges past Hilltop in second half

LA MESA – The Helix boys water polo team came away with a big win tonight, leading just 6-5 at halftime before continuing on for a 16-9 victory against Hilltop High School on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Wes Babbitt led the team in scoring with an impressive 8 goal performance. Goalie Dennis Sweeney stopped nine Lancer shots.

Helix trailed 5-4 after one before shutting out the Lancers in the second quarter. Seth Mashuri scored to tie the game at 5-5. He later gave Helix a 9-7 lead with another goal in the third.

Helix really got the momentum int he fourth, outscoring the visitors 6-1 to put it away.
