Griffins blitz Jaguars for 3-0 league start

Grossmont sets to tip off against Southwestern at home on Friday night.

CHULA VISTA (1-28-17) — Grossmont College ran its PCAC South to 3-0 while balancing its non-conference record at 11-11 in Friday’s (Jan. 27) competition against Southwestern College, coming away with a 77-55 victory.

RONALD BLAIN paced the Griffins with 18 points, hitting 8 of 13 from the field and a pair of free throws. He also crashed the boards for 8 rebounds.

This was no solo effort, however, as BRYCE PARSONS popped in 6 of 10 from the field cleared 7 rebounds, dished 3 assists and finished with 13 points.

LeANDRE POWELL pounded down 5 of 8 shots from the field and finished with 10 points for the Griffins.

Next up for the Griffins is a trip to San Diego Mesa College on Friday (Feb. 3) for a game at 5 p.m.
