GIRLS: Foothillers off to 5-0 start

GROSSMONT 60, POINT LOMA 32 – The Foothillers won against the Pointers in a tournament contest on Tuesday to improve to 5-0 on the season.

On Monday, the Foothillers defeated Madison, 64-8, in a game played at Mission Bay High School.

On Saturday, Grossmont defeated Mission Bay, 60-12.

 

EL CAJON VALLEY 65, VALHALLA 29 – The Braves were impressive in their win over the Lady Norsemen in a tournament game on Tuesday.

El Cajon Valley led 37-10 at halftime.

The Braves improved to 6-6, while their league rival Valhalla is now 5-7.

 

PALO VERDE VALLEY 43, SANTANA 41 (OT) – The Sultans came close to winning against Palo Verde but lost in overtime in a tournament game on Tuesday.

The game started with a brisk pace and Santana led 15-13 after one quarter but things tightened up the rest of the way with the defenses.

The score was 36-all at the end of regulation.

 

SANTANA 41, EL CAJON VALLEY 30 – The Sultans defeated the Braves on Monday in a tournament game played at El Cajon Valley.

On Saturday, the Braves fell to San Diego High, 57-30.

 

SCRIPPS RANCH 60, STEELE CANYON 21 – On Monday, the Falcons defeated the Cougars, who fell to 0-8. On Saturday, the Cougars lost to Point Loma, 43-28.

 

LIBERTY CHARTER 45, VALHALLA 19 – The Lions won on Monday against the Lady Norsemen after leading 9-1 after the first quarter. It was the second win of the season for Liberty.

Valhalla lost to Central High on Saturday by a 33-21 count after trailing just 16-14 at halftime.

Meanwhile, the Lions took a defeat on Saturday to Calipatria, 34-22, despite the score being tied, 9-all at halftime. On Friday, LCHS lost to Mira Mesa, 77-17.

 

OUR LADY OF PEACE 48, EL CAPITAN 20 – El Capitan fell to 5-7 with the defeat against the Pilots.
