CITY WESTERN LEAGUE
CHRISTIAN 2, PATRICK HENRY 0 – Freshman Alyssa McCurty came into the days league opener with a perfect 3-0 record and ended her day with a 4-0 record as she dominated the Patrick Henry Patriots with 12 strikeouts in the City Western League action Thursday in Del Cerro.
McCurty on the day limited the Patriots to only a pair of hits in the complete game seven inning victory.
Offensively Christian would strike first in the first inning when Tyler Krystek and her sacrifice bunt would lead to a run giving them a 1-0 lead.
Later in the top of the sixth inning the Patriots added their other run when Ashley Wood was able to score on a passed ball to make it 2-0.
Zoe Rutheford took the loss for Patrick Henry despite only allowing a pair of runs on seven hits over seven innings in which she walked one and striking out four.
Both Wood and Pressly Villalva would lead Christian in hitting with a pair of hits apiece. Other contributors were Lucy Sherburne who doubled, Samantha Baca and Lily Reyes who each had a hit.

Christian with the victory moves to 16-4-1 overall and 1-0 in league while Patrick Henry falls to 7-10 overall and 0-2 in league.
NON-LEAGUE
STEELE CANYON 13, GROSSMONT 2 – Continuing her hot streak since coming from having to sit out Belle Will not only picked up the win but at the plate had a perfect day including a homerun to help lead the Cougars to the convincing victory over Grossmont in non-league action Thursday afternoon.
Will at the plate collected three hits in three at-bats including a solo home run over the center field fence in the fourth inning, doubled in the third, and singled in the fifth inning.
Steele Canyon would start the scoring in the top of the first inning taking advantage of an error by Grossmont and Hailey Trujillo and her knock down the right field line each leading to runs scored.
Three more runs in the third inning led to a 5-0 lead thanks to Will doubling down the right field line, Trujillo singling to left and Ily Barclay drawing a walk leading to a run.
Leading 5-0 the Cougars added another pair of runs in the fourth inning thanks to Marina Gonzalez tagging up from third base and Will clubbing a solo shot deep to center field.
Steele Canyon would score six more runs in the top of the fifth inning to finish things out which led to a called game due to run rule.
Carleigh Wenck and Skyler Glover each had a hit for Grossmont.
Will would earn the win for the Cougars. On the day she allowed no hits and no runs over three innings in which she walked one and struck out seven. Both Gonzalez who struck out three and allowed one run on one hit in her inning and Payton Sos who also tossed an innin each made appearances.
Nakhia Lee for Grossmont took the loss as she allowed five runs on four hits over three innings in which she walked seven. Saraya Roope came in and tossed two innings of relief in which she allowed eight runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out one.
Steele Canyon moves to 9-8-1 overall while Grossmont falls to 5-10-1.
BONITA VISTA 10, SANTANA 3 – It just wasn’t the Santana Sultans day as they were limited to only four hits in the non-league loss Thursday.
McKenna Miller who was one of the bright spots for the Sultans drove in a pair of runs and Bri Canty who had a pair of hits drove in the other run in the game.
Ashlyn Darrow who started for the Sultans took the loss as she allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out two in her two innings pitched, Bella Zuckerman who came into the game in relief went five innings in which she allowed five runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out two.
Santana with the loss falls 9-6 overall.
