Summit League
Liberty Charter 11, Bayfront Charter 1 (5 inn.) – At Mueller Charter in Chula Vista, Liberty Charter’s Angie Carreon and Layla Montgomery belted two doubls each, giying the Lions their 13th win in their last 14 league contests (and 22-of-29 since the pandemic), moving to withon one game of an undefeated Summit championship… Carreon also led with 4 RBI… Senior pitcher Leah Urias struck out 5 Sharks batters in firing a 4-hitter; the run was unearnede. Urias also stole a base… Four-year starter Samantha McHenry topped all ballplayers with 3 hits to equal a season-best.

Coastal League
The Bishop’s 3, Foothills Christian 2 – At Kate Session Park in Pacific Beach, Foothills Christian scored twice in the seventh, yet TBS held on tocomplete a season sweep… The Bishop’s freshman pitcher Jessica Yao (carried a shutout for 6.2 innings, but then a two-out rally saw Foothills Christian load the bases, followed by a 2-run single by Emma Romeka… However, Yao escaped on a line to shortstop to end the ballgame… Romeka, a senior, posted 3 hitsincuding a double… Right fielder Kenidi Phoenix added 2 basehits.

Patriot League
Mountain Empire 16, Victory Christian 15 – At Buckman Springs, the ballgame came down to the final batter, but the RedHawks held on after the visiting Knights scored twice in the seventh, wrapping yp an undefeated Patriot League championship… Trailing 5-0, the RedHawks scored 6 times in the 4th and 5th innings to take the lead for keeps, although they barely hung on… MEHS had four players record 2 hits each: Valerie mACHADO, Aracely Millan, Alexia DeSalles and Mia Quevedo.

Western League
Cathedral Catholic 5, Christiian 2 – At Del Mar Highlands in San Diego, the host Dons upset the first-place Patriots… Still, even though th Dons moved to within one game of first place, they entered the ballgame already eliminated from the pennant race since Christian and Point Loma, now the co-leaders, meet Thursday to cap the regular season in a winner-take-all showdown Thursday at Roma Dawson Field to determine the outright Western League titlist… Christian ended the scoreless pitchers’ duel with 2 runs in the 4th, including an RBI single by senior Kaitlyn Moody, but the Dons answered with 3 runsn in the 5th… The Patriots are the defending champions in the Eastern League before gainingpromotion.

Non-League
Steele Canyon 16, Ramona 4 (5 inn.) – At the ballpark locatred next to the “Great Wall of Jamul,” junior Kendall Drake drove in four runs, while soph Kallan Shaw added 3 RBI to fuel the Cougars. Both players posted 2 hits and scored twice for the Cougars’ fifth straight win.
