LA MESA – The Grossmont Foothillers continued their perfect march through the Grossmont Valley League on Friday night, dominating visiting Santana 46–6 at Lt. Adams Stadium.

The win moves the Foothillers to 2–0 in league play and sets up next week’s showdown with West Hills as a de facto Grossmont Valley League championship game.

Grossmont came out firing from the opening kickoff, and the Sultans struggled to gain any offensive momentum.

Early miscues turned into instant points for the Foothillers. Kai Jones returned a fumble 75 yards for a touchdown on a play that set the tone for the night, giving Grossmont an early lead.

The blow knock Santana quarterback Ethan Miller from the game, and Grossmont ended up with three defensive scores in the first quarter, as the Sultans finished with six turnovers on the night.

Colton Burke recovered a fumble and returned it for six points, further putting Santana on its heels.

The Foothillers then added a third defensive score when Kaiden Ong intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, helping Grossmont build a 30–0 lead before the end of the first quarter.

Grossmont’s offense was just as effective.

Quarterback Tyler Holmes rushed for a touchdown and later connected with Jonah Martinez on a 27-yard scoring pass.

Running back Isaiah Lababit added a touchdown run in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 46–0 before Santana finally got on the scoreboard late in the fourth quarter.

Sean Gardinera caught a touchdown pass from Liam McGhen to cap the scoring for Santana, which had been limited throughout the night.

The Foothillers controlled the game both offensively and defensively. Grossmont totaled 178 yards of offense, including 105 rushing yards and 73 passing yards. Holmes finished 9-of-18 for 73 yards, while Corbin Dow added 42 rushing yards and A.J. Hooker contributed 50. The Foothillers’ defensive pressure disrupted Santana all night, forcing multiple turnovers that led directly to scores.

Santana was held to just 60 total yards, including minus-2 rushing yards.

Despite the offensive struggles, Santana had notable defensive efforts.

Jordyn Gillise recorded 10 tackles and a sack, while Maddox Eso had eight tackles and recovered a fumble. Tatum Morehouse also recovered a fumble early in the game.

With Grossmont and West Hills both unbeaten in league play, next week’s matchup will likely decide the Grossmont Valley League champion. While not officially a title game, the winner will have a commanding edge in the race for the league crown.
