SANTEE — West Hills opened its 2025-26 campaign with an impressive all-around performance, using a decisive second quarter to pull away from visiting High Tech SD in a 64-46 victory.
Senior Ethen Shaw, last season’s first-team All-Grossmont Valley League standout, immediately resumed his role as the Wolf Pack’s leader, finishing with 13 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc (2-for-4).
Sophomore guard Malekai Dillon delivered a breakout opener with a game-high 16 points, including four three-pointers, helping West Hills build a 39–27 halftime lead.
Senior wing Dru Bullard added 11 points, while senior Cameron Toups posted 9 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.
The Wolf Pack shot 48 percent overall and 10-for-24 from three-point range, as they look to improve on last season’s 12–17 campaign (5–5 Grossmont Valley League).
West Hills held the Storm to just seven points in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

El Cajon Valley 50, San Diego Jewish Academy 47 (Mon.) – El Cajon Valley opened its season with a narrow 50–47 victory over San Diego Jewish Academy.
Santana 58, San Dieguito Academy 56 (Mon.) – Santana began the season 1–0 after edging San Dieguito Academy, 58–56.
