Ramona 19, Vista 2
RAMONA —  Ramona senior Colton Simpson snapped a 2-2 deadlock by bombing a two-run double to left0center field, allowing the Bulldogs to snap a three-game losing streak by pounding the Vista Panthers, 19-2, in Avocado League action Monday (Apr. 20).

The three-run rally in the second inning started on as game-tying, sacrifice fly from Zack Nightingale. Sipson followed with his liner to the fence to secure the lead for keeps.

Simpson also stole a base,then taking third base on a Vista passed ball, scoring three times. The Panthers also committed three errors.

Ramona (13-5 overall, 3-3 Avo) later extended the lead with three additional runs in the fourth, mounting a 7-2 advantage.The big blow was delivered by Blake Hollopeter, the shortstop,on a two-run basehit.

Ramona later romped with six runs on both the fifth and sixth frames. Johnson (6 RBI) belted a grand slam in the fifth;  Tallon Ogilvie  added a grand slam in the sixth.

For the Dawgs, Justin Jarrett, who entered the week leading the Avocado League with a .491 batting average, batted 0-for-2. But Jarrett made up for it by striking out seven Panthers batters in throwing a complete-game, four-hitter.

Vista (10-7, 3-2) received an RBI double from Brandyn Ketcher in the first, and a third-inning sacrifice fly by center fielder Nicolas Bala.

The series continues Wednesday at :America’s Climatic Wonderland” (Vista’s city motto_ on Wednesday,then close up on “the Hill” on Friday.

ALPINE — The Liberty Charter Kions posted their highest run total in more than a year, as the win less Bruins of Chula Vista-High Tech called it quits in the bottom of the sixth after running out of pitchers in Summit League play st JoAn MacQueen Middle School.

Leading 5-2, the Lions (13-11 overall) doubled their score in the third and slowly pulled away, leveling the=ir league record to 1-1. CV-HTH falls to 0-10 after its league debut,

Four different  Lions  drove in runs with doubles: Travis Kraling (1 RBI), Travis Kraling (1), Isaac Anderson (2) and Jace Ballard (2).
