Santana 6, West Hills 3
At Wolf Pack Park, western Santee: Santana first baseman Troy Witucki snapped a 3-3 deadlock with an RBI single, then third baseman Landon Braaksma added a two-run basehit moments later, as the Sultans tallied three times in the sixth inning to down host West Hills, 6-3, in Grossmont Valley League action.

Both ballclubs were limited to six hits, but Santana bunched its knocks in the fourth and the sixth, collecting three runs each time.

The opening trio for the Sultans began on a two- run double by Brennen Weed, then a bases-loaded walk to Kaden Martinez for a 3-1 lead.

West Hills immediately pulled even in the fourth. Wolf Pack center fielder Chuck Rosolino lined a game-tying, two-run single to center, bringing home Max Goodman and Cruz Castaneda.

The Pack has a chance to force extra innings in the seventh when a pair of walks brought the potential game-tying run to the plate. However, Santana pitcher reliever Ethan Miller regained his composure to strikeout the final two batters, including a called strike three for the final out.

Miller saved the victory for starter Israel Sanchez, who went 6.1 innings.Both are sophomores.

Santana (11-12 overall), since ending a six-game skid, moved to 6-0 in GVL action, re-establishing its first-place deadlock with Steele Canyon. The ballclubs meet twice w later this eek.

West Hills (6-14, 3-3 GVL) was eliminated from the pennant chase with the setback.

El Capitan 9, Valhalla 2
At Rancho San Diego: Valhalla placed a major scare into visiting El Capitan, tied with the Vzaqueros through six innings.

However, the “Vaq Attack” answered with a seven-run outburst in the seventh inning to down Orange Nation.

El Capitan’s Ethan Soule drilled a bases-loaded triple in the late outburst. Soule collected four RBI. Teammate Branden Hawkins also tripled.

Caleb Stearns entered from the bullpen, tossing one-hit, shutout ball over the final three frames to garner the victory. Sterns registered five of his nine outs on strikes.

The Vaqueros scored in the fifth for a 2-1 lead, but the Norsemen quickly answered on a run-scoring basehit by first baseman Bachoua to knot the contest in the home-half of the inning.
