Griffins collect seventh-straight win

PALM DESERT (2-9-17) — Grossmont College women’s basketball team traveled to the desert and came home with a 76-60 win over the College of the Desert Roadrunners in Wednesday’s (Feb. 8) non-conference contest.

The Griffs now stand at 9-13 overall.

Leading scorer for the Griffins was freshman KRYA BRUESEWITZ with 24 points, which included hitting 5 treys, dishing 6 assists and make 4 thefts.

Freshman BRITTANY GAFARE poured in 15 points and had 6 rebounds, while VICTORIA ROBINSON added a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocks.

KAMREE HARRISON pitched in 8 points, dished 5 assists and made 3 steals, and RANAE HANNIBAL grabbed a personal best 8 boards.

COURTNEY BRANCH added 7 points, 2 assists and 3 steals.

“It was a very good game and almost everybody scored,” said Griffins coach KAREN CAIRES. “This continues our 7 game win streak.”

The Griffins will next play at San Diego City College on Friday (Feb. 10) for a 5 p.m. contest.
