Hot Cougars deliver first Bonita blemish

JAMUL – Followiong a disastrous first qrst quarter to open the week, the Steele Canyon girls flag football team bounced back with 11 of the best qyarters in the program’s brief existance.

On Saturday (Sept. 27), the Cougars cappede their streak by handing undefeated undefeated Bonita Vista the first ding on their perfect record after finishing in an exciting 19-19 draw in nin-league acxtrionbetween ranked schools.]

Tariling 6-0,, the 10th0ranked Cougars answered with two consecutive touchdowns to lead 13-6 through the first period. Both sidesd later exchanged TDs for the hosts to hold a 19-12 halftime lead.

In the furth, the 2023 CIFSDS chamoion Baronas pulled even with a score and PAT midway through the third period. Then bth defenses withstood challenged in the fourth quarter to finish in the draw.

Steele Canyon moved to 12-3-1 ovrall. Bonita Vista is now 11-0-1.

Individual stats were yet to be issued.
