Game stuff
Trailing 3-2, Anthony Miotti smashed a 2-run, goahead home run, sd the Eagles rallied for three runs in the fourth inning to nip Patrick Henry, 5-4.
An interesting strategy may have upset the Patriots, resulting in the rally.
Preston Hendry led off with a bunt down the first-base line against Henry’s left-handed pitcher. Thus, the catcher needed tofield the ball, but Hendry hustled for the basehit.
With the runner on first and the pitcher going homer fromthe stretch, Miotti parked an 0-1 fastball over the left-field fence for a 4-3 lead.
ANother run would score on Colton Windham singled. The senior then stole second base, advanced to third on an interntionak ground out to the right side by Eurijah Schutza, then home two batters later on a basehit from Jesse Maddox.
Patrick Henry moved within striking distance on an RBI single up the middle in the sixth,
However in the seventh, Windham, the Eagles relief pitcher, survived two on and one down with a pop out ro second baseman Jaden Macias, then a game-ending strikout for the save.
For Granite Hills (7-3 overall), Miotti and Windham both batted 2-for-3, each scoring twice.
Patrick Henrey slipped to 5-4.
