SAN DIEGO — The annual Lions Baseball Tournament, presented by the Downtown San Diego Lions Club, will open its 4-day run on Monday (Mar. 30).

The event is considered the largest and longest-running high school baseball event west of the Mississippi River, if not the entire country. More than 100 ballclubs will be participating.

The Grossmont Conference will be represented by all 11 schools which field athletics teams, along with Christian, Patrick Henry, Foothills Christian, Liberty Charter, Ramona and Mountain Empire.

All teams are scattered among eight divisions (listed below).

Pleasednote: some contests will be held at neutral sites. While most games start at 4 p.m., there are also other starting times, so please read the schedule links tothe Lions Tournament website carefully.

The tournament was founded in 1851. Granite Hills is the defending Open Division champion.
