At Gizoni Field, Fletcher Hills: El Capitan clinched third place in the GHL standings following its road win at Grossmont.
Vaqueros pitcher Jr. Merino fired a complete game, striking out four Hillers; All three runs allowed were unearned.
El Capitan scored three runs in the seventh, which proved to be important. Grossmont ended the shutout bid in the home half of the frame.
Kane Bartley drove in three runs for the Vaqueros, while Merino knocked in two. Both are sophomores.
Helix 8, Valhalla 4
At La Mesa: Helix pitcher Elijah Martinez struck out 10 Valhalla batters, while Kie Smith stroked a pair of RBI doubles, allowing the Scotties to re- gain its half-game lead over idle Granite Hills in the GHL.

Steele Canyon reported a score of 5-1; West Hills reported 5-2. Also, West Hills originally reported a win of 10-0, but that was the JV game (a no-hitter).
Elsewhere, Mount Miguel snapped its GVL losing skid by downing El Cajon Valley, 15-2.

At Linda Vista: Foothills Christian pitcher “Captain” Jack Morgan fired a complete-game, four-hitter to stop Francis W. Parker.
Morgan struck out 15 Oancers batters, breezing with the lead throughout after the Knights scored in the first, then added a bonus run in the fifth.
Driving home runs were Johannes Jansen Granillo and Anthony Garcia.
