LAKESIDE (7-26-15) — El Capitan pitcher TRISTAN DUNCAN of No Fear’s 17U team led the 2015 West Championships with 23 strikeouts in summer ball.
In the opening 8:30 a.m. game of the Phil Singer Summer Series Tournament, the 17U No Fear baseball team took the win over Trosky Navy at Vista High School. Duncan pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving up only one hit.
The only run of the game was scored by No Fears’ KYLE STOWERS of Christian High who hit a double and was eventually bunted in by No Fears’ MARSHALL CHAMPLAIN, also a Vaqueros player.
No Fear would go on to post a 5-1 record over the weekend, playing contests at three of the tourney’s six venues county wide.
No Fear next faces the winner of a game between the San Diego Gamers and Watsonville Aggies at 5:15 at Oceanside’s JV field.
JORDAN FRANCE of No Fear and El Capitan was hit in the face with a fastball and taken by ambulance to Palomar Hospital Trauma Unit. Prayers for Jordan and his family.
