CIF San Diego Section 2015 Girls Volleyball Championships – Divsion III
Semifinals–Wednesday’s result
(5) Steele Canyon def. (8) Imperial, 25-16, 25-15, 25-18 – The Cougars knocked off upstart Imperial to reach the San Diego CIF championship game in Division III.
Senior Tyler Sinkovich had 14 kills, while fellow senior Katelynn Caserma-Koebe added 12, as the Cougars swept the Tigers.
Junior Gabi Gandolfi served up three aces for the Cougs, while junior Ashley Whipple added three blocks for Steele Canyon.
SC sophomore Chloe Gould served up 42 assists, while senior teammate Lizzy Bagdasar had 30 digs.
The Cougars face second-seeded Mission Bay (25-4) in the finals on Saturday at Cathedral Catholic at 11 a.m.
Mission Bay def. Christian 26-24, 15-25, 25-17, 34-32 – Alex Dunham led Christian with 30 kills, but the Bucs advanced to the championship game for the first time in school history. Other leaders: Assists: Larsen (C) 18. Digs: Henige (C) 29.
Final – Steele Canyon (27-13) vs Mission Bay, Saturday at Cathedral Catholic, 11 a.m.
