SANTEE (11-12-16) — It was a difficult finale for coach CASEY ASH and his Wolf Pack against Bonita Vista in Friday night’s (Nov. 11) San Diego CIF Division II first round meeting.

West Hills (5-6) couldn’t get off the floor and never held a lead against the Barons (4-7), who finished with a 27-10 victory over the Pack, which was therefore eliminated from the playoffs.

The Barons were guided by four-year starting quarterback Robert Cota, who directed the Bonita Vista offense to the lop-sided victory.

Some might say the Barons should not have even been in the playoffs, but their performance against West Hills indicated otherwise.

The Barons lost their last four games but seemed to be picking up the pace in the post-season play.

West Hills turned to GRIFFIN GUINN to lead the charge as he finished with 131 yards on 26 carries. JOVAN BEA rushed for 69 yards on 11 carries and returned 4 kickoffs for 91 yards.

JAKE HALLAHAN had an interception that led to CADE WEAVER’s  30-yard field goal in the second quarter to put the Pack on the scoreboard.

AUSTIN DILL later scored the Pack’s only touchdown on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter, with Weaver kicking the PAT.

DALLEN BROWNING and RICKY WILSON each had a fumble recovery for the Pack.

The Barons held Wolf Pack quarterback HAYDEN ROACH in check for most of the night.
