SANTEE – The Santana Sultans knocked off the Grossmont Foothillers, 52-49, at Grossmont High Thursday night for a promising send-off into the league season, which starts Friday.
The Foothillers have battled through a depleted lineup this season due to injuries to some key players, but still have the best overall record in the Grossmont Valley League heading into the opener. the Sultans upped their record to 11-4 with the road win.

ZOE SHIBLEY led the Sultans with 19 points, while CANDACE HENDERSON led Grossmont with 20 points.
