EL CAJON – Grossmont College freshman kicker/punter ETHAN ALBERTSON has been named Southern California Football Association National Division special teams/all-purpose Player of the Week for Week 5.
Albertson, a 6-foot-2, 205-pounder out of Mt. Carmel High, kicked field goals of 54 and 50 yards, which both easily cleared the crossbar, early in the first quarter to give Grossmont a 6-0 lead.
He added a 30-yard field goal with 11:50 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Griffins their final lead of the of the day 24-21.
Albertson also pinned Palomar at its 15-yard line with a 50-yard punt.
