EL CAJON – The fourth-ranked Christian High Lady Patriots downed the Scripps Ranch Falcons, 73-,55, on Tuesday evening.
Simone James had three field goals in the first quarter as the Patriots went out to a 20-16 lead.
James added 11 points in the second quarter as Christian led 43-31 at halftime.
Koko Akridge had a pair of three-pointers in the first half, while Carreon made four first-half field goals.
Amaya Howard had seven points in the third quarter for CHS, which led 58-48 heading into the fourth quarter.
Allie Carreon, Sarah Moyer, and James all made three-pointers in the fourth quarter to help Christian pull away.
Christian High improved to 14-4 on the season and 2-0 in Western League play.
The Patriots face 2-0 Cathedral Catholic (9-9), the No. 3-ranked team in the section on Friday at 6 at CCHS.
LIBERTY CHARTER 55, MARANATHA CHRISTIAN 51 – The Lions rallied from an early deficit to defeat the Eagles at Lemon Grove Rec Center on Tuesday.
Maranatha Christian led 17-8 at the end of the first quarter but the Lions pulled to within 28-26 at halftime.
It was the third quarter where Liberty did its damage, outscoring the Eagles, 16-8.
Sabrina Espelet scored eight points in the third quarter to help the Lions surge to the front.
Espelet added six points in the fourth quarter, as Liberty improved to 10-5.
Liberty will face Classical Academy on Friday at 4.
SANTANA 53 CLASSICAL ACADEMY 40 – The Sultans defeated the Caimans on Monday, as Bella Terry had 24 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots to lead Santana.
Lakaila Aquiningoc-David added 11 points, five assists and three steals for Santana.
Brianna Jerig finished with nine points, six assists, and five steals for SHS.
Raeya Bristol had four points and seven rebounds for Santana.
The Sultans blitzed the Caimans in the second half, outscoring them 29-15.
Santana improved to 6-12 on the season, while Classical improved to 8-9 on the year.
The Sultans will travel to face Monte Vista on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in a Grossmont Valley League game.
