West Hills 2, Grossmont 1 – The Wolf Pack won the matchup between two of the top teams in the area and improved to 3-0-1 in league play.

Santana 2, Mount Miguel 1 – The Sultans won at home to improve to 2-1 in league play behind goals from sophomore Ryan DeRosiers and senior Johan Cardenas.

Monte Vista 3, El Capitan 1 – The Monarchs won at home to remain unbeaten in league play.

Valhalla 5, Steele Canyon 1 – Sophomore Sevastian Dekho had a hat trick and senior Elijah Martinez scored a pair of goals.

Granite Hills 0, Helix 0 – The teams played to a scoreless draw in La Mesa, but Helix remained unbeaten in league play at 1-0-3 and overall at 4-0-3.

Foothills Christian 1, Guajome Park 0 – FCHS, the top team in Division V, continued to roll with the win over the Frogs, who were making their season debut.

Liberty 8, River Valley 1 – The Lions won the non-league game between East County teams.

Mountain Empire 4, Borrego Springs 1 – RedHawks led 2-0 at halftime to win the non-league game on the road.

Mountain Empire 10, River Valley 1 – Freshman Emanuell Guzman had a hat trick and two assists. Hayden McAllister had a goal and six assists.

Liberty 2, Bayfront 2 – Senior Eduardo Tonoco had a pair of goals for the Sharks.

El Capitan 3, Mount Miguel 1 – The Vaqueros scored the only two goals of the second half to win the Grossmont Valley League game for their first league win of the season.

Monte Vista 3, El Cajon Valley 1 – The Monarchs picked up the Grossmont Valley League win to remain unbeaten in league play.

Grossmont 3, Granite Hills 1 – After trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Foothillers scored three times in the second half to win the Grossmont Hills League game on the road.

Helix 0, Steele Canyon 0 – Helix and Steele Canyon played a goal-less draw in Spring Valley in a GHL game.

Foothills Christian 1, Tri-City Christian 0 – Junior Elijah Moore scored on an assist from senior Jake Saffer for the Knights.

Helix 4, Monte Vista 1 – The Highlanders led 2-0 and went on to win the Grossmont Conference game on the road.

Foothills Christian 8, Mountain Empire 0 – Senior Jake Saffer scored four goals, while teammate Adam Barre added a pair of tallies. Junior Elijah Moore had four assists.

Helix 2, Grossmont 1 – Helix won the Grossmont Hills League weekend matchup on the Hillers’ home turf.

Liberty 8, O’Farrell 0 – The O’Farrell Falcons were shut out by Liberty, which scored four goals in each half in the Frontier-Patriot game.

Central 5, Santana 0 – The Sultans trailed 4-0 at halftime and were shut out at home.


Friday, April 16, 2021

Valhalla 1, Granite Hills 0 – Senior Elijah Martinez with the game-winner to take the Hills League game at Valley Stadium.

Martinez scored on a penalty with 21 minutes left in the game when he teed one up and pounded it into the right side of the net.

West Hills 1, Steele Canyon 0 – Senior Landon Vanderhyde scored the goal on an assist from Kyle Hammond. Junior Rhodes Canfield recorded the shutout, notching three saves.

Monte Vista 2, Santana 1 – Sophomore Jayson Oliver scored for the Sultans, but the Monarchs won the Valley League matchup.

El Capitan 0, El Cajon Valley 0 – There wasn’t much between the teams in the scoreless draw in Lakeside during the Valley matchup.

Valhalla 5, Patrick Henry 3 – Roberto Martinez scored twice for the host Norsemen, who led 3-2 at halftime. Elijah Martinez added a goal and an assist for the Norsemen.

Foothills Christian 6, Madison 0 – The visiting Knights exploded for five goals in the second half as Adam Barre finished with a hat trick in the contest. Jake Saffer had two goals. Both Barre and Saffer had two assists, as well.

Kearny 4, Mount Miguel 2 – At Spring Valley, the Komets, the Division V champs from a season ago, led 2-1 at halftime.

Ramona 5, Foothills Christian 4 – The visiting Knights got two goals in the game from Adam Barre, but the Bulldogs outscored FCHS, 3-2, in the second half. Foothills’ Elijah Morr had a goal and two assists.
