SAN DIEGO — Palomar College catcher Devlin Lindeman has bern named the Player of the Year as the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference announced its 2022 all-conferencer baseball team.
Lindeman, a freshman who hails from Temescal Canyon High in southwest Riverside County, hit for both average and power this season. He batted .363, with 15 home runs and 64 RBI, plus scored 65 times.
Grossmont College, which led the PCAC for most of the season until a late slump in April, saw three members of the Griffins named to the first team, as selected by conference coaches.
The honorees included a pairof right-side infielders in Zavien Watson (1B, Cathedral Catholic ’20) and Sean McGrew (2B, high school unknown), plus starting right-handed pitcher Jake Sergent (Santana ’18).
Also gaining berths were catcher Kaleb Tedekon (Grossmont HS ’18) and outfielder Ethan Cashetta (Eastlake ’20).
All five are freshmen.
