SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Sockers, winners of eight straight games to clinch yet another West Division crown in Major Arena Soccer League, will close the regular season with “Double Play Games” this week. On Thursday, the Sockers host the powerful Milwaukee Wave, then close the slate against the rival Dallas Sidekicks on Saturday. Both are at Pechanga Arena. GAME TIMES
Last week, the Sockers (20-2 overall) extended their winning streak with a pair of 1-goal victories. They nipped Southern California rival Empire Strykers (Ontario, Calif.), 3-2 in overtime, then went south of the border to clip the Monterrey Flash, 5-4. READ MORE
