RANCHO SAN DIEGO – Cuyamaca College extended its Pacific Coast Athletic Conference lead and ran its unbeaten streak to four straight gaes without a loss by stopping visiting Imperial Valley College, 8-1, Tuesday (Oct. 8) at the Coyotes’ field.
Cuyamaca (6-4-2 overall) the defending PCAC titlists, moves to 3-1-1 in conference play, rebounding from an upset loss in the conference opener. However, with their current 3-0-1 string, the Coyoytes now lead second-place Southwestern (2-0-1), 10 points to 5, even though the Jaguars holdc a gamne-in-hand.
Esteban Salais and Diego Esquivel (both out of Bonita Vista), along with Xavier Monge )SD-Southwest) all scored two goals e,ach for the Coyotes.
Much of the credit belongs toplay-making midfielder Enrique Rodriguez (Chula Vista HS), who registered assists on half of the Cuyamaca goals.
All eight goals came in the first half before the hosts cleared the bench. ROSTER

Women’s Water Polo
REDWOOD CENTER – In a battle between the top two teams in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, 7th-ranked San Diego Miramar assumed the top spot after downing host Grossmont College in the Griffin’s PCAC opener at the Salvation Army Joan B. Kroc Center on Wednesday (Oct. 9).
San Diego Miramr (14-2 overall) moves to 2-0 in PCAC actiom. Grossmont falls to 8-5. All other PCAC schools are under .500 (compostion 9-28 record).
Men’s Water Polo
FLETCHER HILLS – The Grossmont College men’s water polo team has the bye in this week’s Pacific Coast Athletic Conference slate.
The Griffins (2-0 PCAC), the only club in the conference with a winning recdord at 9-5 overall (the others are a composite 11-35) will hosy Palomar next Wednesday (Oct. 16) at a site to be announced.
Among the statistical leader, Grossmont all-purpose performer Xylen Rotsart (Helix) is second in the PCAC in goal scoring, while driver Harrison Eaton (Patrick Henry) ranks second in assists.Both are sophomores.
In goal, fredhman Lon Kun-Szabo (Patrick Henry) is also second-best in several categoieas, including save percentage and goal-against average.
