EL CAJON – Valhalla’s Lady Norsemen faced their long-time rival Santana in a field hockey game at Valhalla. Despite their  hard efforts, the Norsemen lost to the Sultans, 2-0 0n Wednesday (Oct. 21).

The Santana Sultans scored their two goals within the first half of the game. The game was high-paced and both teams were very aggressive.

During the first half, the Norsemen let their guard down long enough to give the rival opportunity to score their winning goals.  Santana played at a high intensity during the first half and even though they battled back, the Sultans would push just a bit further.

During the second half, a quite few attempts to score from Valhalla occurred and the level of intensity increased as the ball went back and forth between the two teams. Valhalla came close enough to score several times during the second half.

Despite their loss, the Valhalla field hockey team has improved since the beginning of the year, and has built a name for itself in the league.

Valhalla has six more games to go, as its next field hockey game is at Madison High School on October 28 at 3:30.
