SANTA CLARITA – Despite their opponent shooting 58 percent from the floor and 54 percent from beyond the arc, the SDC men’s basketball found their first GSAC win of the season Thursday night against The Master’s College 78-73.

With the win, the Hawks improve to 8-5 on the season and 1-2 in GSAC play. The Mustangs fall to 4-7 on the year and 1-2 on conference play.

No lead was larger than two points for the first 12:27 in the game before a layup by the Mustangs gave them a 4-point lead at 26-22. Trevor English‘s free throws gave the Hawks the 28-27 lead with 4:07 left in the first. But the Mustangs again regained the lead and took a 1-point advantage at the break.
