LA JOLLA (12-16-16) — West Hills could not handle 6-foot-6 Harvard-bound Reed Farley, who knocked down 19 points and drove in 3 treys, finishing with 6 for 7 on free throws along with 18 rebounds.
The Wolf Pack made a go of it though, but couldn’t get more than 2 points from any of their starters except for CAMERON BARRY, who punched in 19 points including 3 treys and 6 of 7 free throws.
The game got off to a rather humorous start as a fan blew a vuvezela during the first quarter. However, the referees banned the horn-blowers’ instrument after the Vikings led 16-15 at the end of the period.
Barry canned a three-pointer just 2:13 into the game which gave the Wolf Pack an early 9-2 edge.
La Jolla led 35-23 at halftime behind Charlie Gal’s team-leading 16 points for the Vikings. Gal led La Jolla with 21 points and 16 rebounds.
Farley had a drive to the basket for a score in traffic, drawing a foul with five minutes to go in the game, which gave the Vikes a 55-44 lead.
At the final bell, the Pack (2-4) succumbed 62-50 to the Vikings (6-1).
