MISSION BAY – West Hills senior RICKY WILSON rushed for two touchdowns in the first quarter and senior RYAN JEWELL blocked a field goal in the first half to help preserve the shutout as the Wolf Pack blanked host Mission Bay, 28-0, Friday evening.

West Hills came out strong, scoring just one minute into the contest on Wilson’s first TD.

After senior CADE WEAVER pinned the Buccaneers with a crafty punt down to the 3, the Wolf Pack’s JAKE MAHEU recovered a fumble, setting up Wilson’s second score with 3:15 to go in the first.

Wolf Pack senior JAKE HALLAHAN helped thwart the Bucs’ best scoring attempt with a big sack back to the West Hills 25.

Moments later, Jewell blocked a Bucs’ field goal try.

JORDIN YOUNG scored on a 4-yard keeper to make it 20-0.

West Hills got some nice running from senior back AUSTIN DILL.

“We played well on defense and special teams, but we had a hard time getting on track offensively in the first half,” West Hills coach CASEY ASH said. “They had a few guys that gave us trouble, but we were able to remain disciplined and use leverage to help each other out.

“We will need to improve over the next week to have a chance against (1-2) Mount Miguel (next week).”
