EastCountySports.com staff report
CHULA VISTA – The ninth-ranked Eastlake Titans knocked off the second-ranked Granite Hills Eagles on a ninth-inning wild pitch in a non-league game on Tuesday.
The Eagles’ Brooke Bertussi drew a bases-loaded walk to score Rylee Omahen to make it 1-0 in the second inning.
The Titans’ Sharlize Palacios hit a solo home run to tie the game at 1-all in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The rest of the way neither team could put together any offense thus the game went into extra innings.
Granite Hills (17-8) loaded the bases in the ninth but came up empty.
Dobbs struck out 11 but got a no-decision.
It was Eastlake’s second win over the Eagles this season.
