Sultan Barkhimer pitches no-hitter

ESCONDIDO – Santana’s Joe Barkhimer pitched a no-hitter against Mt Carmel on Tuesday, as the Sultans posted a 3-0 win at the Cougar Classic.

Barkhimer struck out nine Mt. Carmel batters. She only walked one.

Brianna Jerig had an RBI groundout in the first inning for a 1-0 lead.

Lakaila Aquiningoc-David had two hits for Santana, driving in a run, and scoring a run.

Samantha Sullivan had the other Santana RBI.

 

GROSSMONT 15, HIGH TECH SAN DIEGO 0 (4 inn.) – Katelynn Parent led Grossmont by driving in four runs, as she went 3-for-3.

Parent drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the third, and another single in the third, as the Foothillers scored 12 runs in the third frame.

Caiti Potts pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits for the Foothillers.

Potts also drove in a pair of runs with three hits.

Issy Cervantes had three runs, scored three runs, and had an RBI.

Kati Contreras and Halle Sweiss each drove in a run in the 12-run third.

Sweiss scored three runs.

 

VALHALLA 5, EL CAMINO 5 (5 inn.) – Valhalla scored four runs in the top of the first inning on a grand slam by McKayla Fish but the contest ended in a 5-all tie on Tuesday.

Freshman Naomi Villalva had two hits and scored a run for the Lady Norsemen.

Freshman Andrea Gonzalez had a hit and scored a run for Valhalla.

 

PATRICK HENRY 8, STEELE CANYON 7 (4 inn.) – Steele Canyon senior Bianca Morales homered for a three-run shot in the top of the third inning, and junior teammate Carlie Williams had a solo shot in the second, but the Cougars fell to the Patriots on a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Jazmin Williams had a hit and scored a run for Steele Canyon.

 

MAR VISTA 6, CHRISTIAN 3 – Audrey Shebloski tripled and doubled for the Patriots but the Mariners got the win on Tuesday at the Gold & Silver Classic.

Christian High scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, as Shebloski tripled home a run.

Kate Manes had a hit and  two RBI for the Patriots.

Shebloski scored twice.

 

HIGH TECH NORTH COUNTY 14, EL CAJON VALLEY 9 (5 inn.) – The Braves scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the Raptors used a 10-run third to erase the deficit.

 

MADISON 26, LIBERTY CHARTER 2 (4 inn.) – The Lions led 2-0 after a half-inning.

Lauren Tarpy and Jeralyn Villa had the RBI for LCHS.

Sydney Via had a hit and scored a run for Liberty.
