Eagles blank Falcons at Cougar Classic

ESCONDIDO – Granite Hills senior Staci Chambers pitched a two-hitter at the Cougar Classic as second-ranked Eagles won, 6-0, against the fifth-ranked Falcons at Kit Carson Park to move into the tournament quarterfinals.

Chambers had a double and drove in a pair of runs.

Senior Bailey Wallace had three hits, including a double, drove in two runs, stole a base and scored twice for the Eagles.

Sophomore Chloe Knepp had two hits, including a double, drove in a run, stole a base and scored a run for Granite.

It was the fourth-straight win for the Eagles.

 

SANTANA 1, CARLSBAD 1 – The Sultans and Lancers played to a 1-all tie at the Cougar Classic.

Santana scored a run in the fourth inning as Samantha Sullivan had one of her two hits, driving home the score.

Emmalee Leggett went six innings for the Sultans, scattering five hits and striking out four.

 

WEST HILLS 7, MIRA MESA 6 – The Wolf Pack defeated the Marauders in a Cougar Classic matchup.

 

POWAY 5, STEELE CANYON 1 – The Cougars lost to the Titans at the Cougar Classic as Poway pitched a no-hitter.

Sophomore Madison Villaescua scored the run for Steele Canyon.
