LAKESIDE – In the top of the seventh inning, Maddie Taylor drove in the go-ahead run with a single scoring Hailey Mulligan, giving El Capitan a 6-5 win over Calexico.
The Vaqueros but they would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Hannah Davis singled in Katy Hicks.
Calexico would take a 2-1 lead, but Brandy Taylor led off the top of the third with a hit. She would come into score when Katie Collier grounded out.
Leading 4-3, the Vaqueros added a run when Maddie Taylor doubled for an RBI.
But Calexico would lead to a tie game at 5-all.
Alexa Williams pitched 5 1/3 innings of relief, striking out six.
SANTANA 11, OCEANSIDE 1 (5 inn.) – The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but Sultan senior Joey Barkhimer pitched a two-hitter.
The Sultans scored five runs in the top of the third, led by a pair of RBI from Barkhimer. Also, Bailey Oceguera drove in Samantha Sullivan with a hit.
Barkhimer went the 5-inning distance for the win, striking out eight.
GRANITE HILLS 8, IMPERIAL 2 – Sophomore Chloe Knepp pitched four innings, allowing a pair of runs, while sophomore Taylor Rose pitched two scoreless innings for Granite Hills.
Senior Rylee Omahen had two hits, two runs scored, and a run batted in for Granite Hills
Freshman Jenna Haynal had two hits, a run scored, and an RBI for the Eagles.
Senior Haley Johnson had two hits and an RBI for Granite Hills.
GROSSMONT 1, CLAIREMONT 1 – At Kit Carson Park, the Foothillers and Chieftains finished in a 1-all tie.
The Hillers’ Halle Sweiss hit a solo home run for her team’s run.
For Grossmont, Caiti Potts went seven innings, walking just one while striking out five.
EL CAJON VALLEY 11, GOMPERS PREP 10 –
SAN MARCOS 9, VALHALLA 8 – Valhalla scored hree runs in the top of the first inning as Bailey Munch and Cadyn Ruffer both drove in a run.
Yanely Gonzalez doubled home a run, while Nayeli Chappa had two RBI for Valhalla.
MORSE 7, MONTE VISTA 5 – Monte Vista senior Desiree Corona drove in a pair of runs with two hits and scored a run for Monte Vista.
Senior Vanessa Varela had a hit, an RBI, stole a base and scored a run for the Monarchs.
Senior Meeah Matanane had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run for the Monarchs.
Matanane allowed two hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out four.
FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 21, LIBERTY CHARTER 7 – The Knights rolled the Lions in a non-league contest on Thursday.
Senior Shanel Bouboin had three hits and three RBI for the Knights. She also scored two runs.
Senior Holli Johnson scored three runs for FHCS.
Sophomore Carly Robbins had two hits, two RBI and scored three runs for the Knights.
Marilee Staufenbei had a hit, two RBI and three runs scored for Foothills.
Freshman Jillian Cabral had a hit, and RBI and scored three runs for the Lady Knights.
The Lions got two RBI apiece from Sydney Via and Lauren Tarpy. Tarpy scored a pair of runs.
RANCHO BUENA VISTA 11, WEST HILLS 1 – West Hills scored top of the third inning when Mia Colabella stole home to tie the game at 1-all.
