BISHOP’S 50, CHRISTIAN 39 – The Bishop’s Knights knocked off the Christian High Patriots despite a combined 24 points from Ben Felice and Patrick Perez, of the Pats.

The Patriots led 11-9 after the first quarter behind a pair of threes from Felice, and another from Mini Mesghanna.

However, the Knights led 27-20 at halftime.

Christian got eight points in the fourth quarter from Perez, including a triple, while Zerry Smith also knocked down a fourth-quarter three.

The Knights improved to 5-1, while the Patriots are winless in three starts.

Bishop’s received 18 points from sophomore Armaan Damani, who canned three three-pointers. The Knights made six treys on the night.

The Knights’ only loss was by six points to Torrey Pines.

 

SOUTHWEST (EC) 63, EL CAPITAN 56 – The Eagles turned back the Vaqueros’ road challenge after El Capitan clawed it’s way back into the game in the fourth quarter behind Desean Desinor, who scored 25 points in the contest.

Junior Jayden Johnson added 16 points for El Capitan, while junior teammate Micha Odell added 10 points.

It was Odell’s field goal in the fourth quarter which actually gave El Cap a 50-49 lead after trailing by as much as 33-21.

Savigon Yokley had a team-high 13 rebounds for El Capitan (3-4).

Southwest improved to 2-3.

El Capitan will face Victory Christian (3-4) on Saturday.

 

RANCHO BUENA VISTA 74, FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 59 – The Longhorns controlled the game in the second half after a very close first half.

Rancho Buena Vista (2-1) led 38-37 at halftime.

Senior Nick Hadge scored 18 points for the Knights.

Senior Joseph Hankins had 16 points for FCHS.

Freshman Kameron Brown added 12 points for Foothills (0-2).

 

MONTE VISTA 69, LIBERTY CHARTER 37 – The Monte Vista Monarchs improved to 5-1 with a win over winless Liberty on Thursday.

Monte Vista will travel to face Coronado (0-2) on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

 

MARANATHA CHRISTIAN 56, SANTANA 39 – The Sultans dropped the contest to the Eagles in a tournament contest in Santee.

The Sultans trailed just 13-10 at the end of the first period, and were still in the game at halftime, down just 29-21.

Four Eagles scored in double figures, as Maranatha improved to 5-3. Santana is 0-6.
