With the douybleheader sweep. 12-5 and 8-5, Santa Ana head coach Marissa Ross earned her 100th career triumph.
The Griffins (0-2) demonstrated a much-improved offense, but the traditional powerful slugging of Santa Ana took advantage of Grossmont’s young pitching.
Game One
For Grossmont, cwnter fielder Kate Manes ( belted a pair of doubles, knocking in a run each time.
Manes, the No. 3 hitter, was set-up by No. 2 hitter Destiny Burroughs, the shortstop, who collected three of the Griffins’ 9 hits.
For Santa Ana, sophomore right ielder Kaitlin Murphy batted a perfetc 5-for-5. BOXSCORE
Game Two
Santa Ana raced to a 5-0 lead, yet the G-House scored three times in the seventh inning and brought the potential game-tying run to the plate before the Dons held on.
y Burroughs and Manes each collected two more RBI, with Manes slugging a triple and a double.
In addition, SB: leadoff batter Kylee Knioght, the second baseman, stole two bases. BOXSCORE

The Griffins don’t play again until next Friday (Jan. 31), hosting College of the Desert in a doublehader, starting at noon.
The Griffins then play a split doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 1) going to Menofee to meet host Mt.San Jacinto at 9 a.mn., then meet L.A. Harbor at noon on the same field.
