Grossmont Hills League
Helix 15, at Grossmont 3 (5 inn.)
Editor’s note: Three hours after the score/story were posted, a rised score of Helix 11-0 in seven innings was posted. which is correct? Who knows.
At Gizoni Field, Fletcher Hills: We’re only guessing, but it appears a “secret” memo has been sent by conference authorities stating that all games (a/k/a. blowouts) with a 10-run lead or more will be halted after five (or six) innings following the recent ECVHS debacle;e against Santana.
Thus, in just 56 minutes, Helix scored seven times in the fifth inning, taking a “mercy rule” triumph over host Grossmont.
The Hillers actually led, 2-1, through two frames, but the Scotties collected 14 runs during their final three trips to the plate.
Except for an RBI double byNikayla Domingo in the fifth, all Helix runs came on singles, errors or ground outs.
Granite Hills 20, Valhalla 0
At Granite Hills Field: Eurijah Schutza struck out six Valhalla batters, including all three in the second inning, o lead the host Eagles past Orange Nation in five innings.
Schutza [itched one-hit ball over his four innings, then K.B. Rempel made his first varsity appearance to seal the verdict. It was a combined one-hitter.
The Eagles scored 11 times in the first, capped by a two-run homer to centerfield by Jake Ervin.
Standings: Helix 7-1, Granite Hills 5-2, El Capitan 4-5, Grossmont 3-4, Valhalla 0-7.

Liberty Charter 9, CV-High Tech 1
At Joan MacQueen M.S.: Tied at 1-all in the early going, Liberty Charter closed with eight unanswered runs to ruin guest Bruins.
Lions pitcher Zachary Runge ended the contest by striking out the side, giving him a season-high 11 K’s for the victory in his complete-game, four-hitter.
Runge was supported by an offense which scored on five of its six trips to the plate, which was jump-started on an RBI double by third baseman Isaac Anderson, The Young ruins also played more like bearcubs, contributing five errors for
five runs.
Pacific League
Escondido Charter 8, Foothills Christian 2
At Escondido: The host White Tigers trailed 2-0, but answered with three go-ahead runs in the third inning, then five more markers in the fifth to stop the Knights.
Ethan Anderson derived a two-run double to gain the game-winning hit/RBI.
For Foothills Christian, freshman Anthony Garcia posted a pair of run-scoring singles.
