Knights treat Julian to some humble pie

EL CAJON – Connor George and Eli Hale led Foothills Christian to a dominating performance over Julian in an eight-man game Friday night at Seau Field.

George caught four touchdown passes from quarterback Daniel Hoffman and Hale had a pair of interceptions, as the Knights’ jumped on the Eagles early and won 46-0.

Hoffman scored on a touchdown in the first quarter to give the Knights’ their first score. Matthew Aragon scored the conversion. Aragon was later shaken up in the second quarter and had a second conversion in the game.

Hale got the ball right back for Foothills Christian with an interception and the Knights’ quickly capitalized when George scored a touchdown when he and QB Hoffman hooked up on a 52-yard completion. Hoffman ran in the conversion to make it 16-0.

The pair struck again a few minutes later on a 12-yard scoring connection to increase the lead to 22-0.

Hale recorded another interception, but Foothills turned the ball back over to Julian.

George scored another touchdown later, then added the conversion on a catch from Hoffman to make it 30-0.

Hoffman scored on another keeper and George added a fourth touchdown to make it 46-0.

Hoffman was 9-for-13 for 235 yards in all, with no interceptions. The junior signal-caller called this own number for a pair of TD scores, as well. Seven of his completions were to George.

Nathan Hamilton also had an interception for Foothills Christian and a two-point conversion. He also led the Knights with eight tackles, including a pair of sacks. George added three tackles and Steven Leoncini also had a sack.
