2016-17 GROSSMONT COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL

LOS ANGELES (12-29-16) — After not playing for almost three weeks, Grossmont College came out flat against the East Los Angeles Huskies in the first round of the San Diego Mesa College Invitational.
The Griffins trailed 38-26 at halftime and eventually fell to the Huskies, 74-59.
Grossmont came into the tournament ranked No. 13 in Southern California, while East L.A. was ranked No. 7.
In another game in the same tournament, Cuyamaca College (5-9) edged Cypress College 75-69 and advanced to Thursday’s (Dec. 29) semifinals. The Coyotes will take on the Huskies at 4 p.m.
The Griffins (8-6) meanwhile, will face off against Cypress on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mesa College.
