JULIAN (1-29-17) — Snow, apple pie and basketball. That’s what the El Cajon Valley Braves found when they traveled to Julian on Saturday (Jan. 28) for a non-league game with the Eagles.
“We had a good time playing in the snow before the game – most of the girls had never seen snow,” said Braves coach CARLOS MOSS, who confessed to bringing home an apple pie as well as a 57-51 victory over Julian.
There are a couple of bottom lines in this one.
Junior LEANNA WATSON, who went to the free throw line 31 times, scored a game-high 37 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, dished 6 assists and made 7 steals.
“Leanna Watson went to the free throw line 31 times,” Moss said. “She tied a school record of 31 free throw attempts in a game.”

Freshman VEAN GORGEES scored 9 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished 2 assists and made one steal.
SUMAYA HAMEED had 9 rebounds to go with 5 points.
