2018 EAST COUNTY LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL ALL-STARS
EastCountySports.com staff report
EL CAJON – With record-setting high temperatures and a major brush fire affecting families from both Alpine American and Cajon de Oro, Friday’s District 41 Little League 11-12 All-Stars tournament game scheduled to be played at CDO was postponed.
The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday evening at CDO at 7.
Meanwhile, we found out which team will await the loser of the winner’s bracket final on Friday night when West Hills Little League’s LANDON BAILEY hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to lift his team to a 6-2 win over host Fletcher Hills in the elimination final.
West Hills trailed 2-1 when Bailey’s shot to center on a 3-2 pitch with no outs banged off the plastic protecting the famous FHLL scoreboard.
Fletcher Hills remained alive earlier in the week with a 7-5 win over Singing Hills.
District 33
The San Carlos and Rolando Little League 11-12 All-Stars will meet in the District 33 championship game on Saturday night at La Mesa National.
Rolando defeated Allied Gardens, 7-5, on Friday night in the elimination bracket final.
Rolando, which would need consecutive wins against SCLL, eliminated Lake Murray LL, 10-3, on Thursday.
San Carlos defeated Rolando, 15-4, back on June 29.
Last Tuesday, SCLL’s TALIN GARDINI pitched a no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Allied Gardens.
District 66
The Lemon Grove Little League 11-12 All-Stars will compete for the District 66 championship banner tonight against Las Palmas Little League at 7 at Spring Valley Little League.
Las Palmas eliminated Valley de Oro, 5-3, last Tuesday.
