2022 EAST COUNTY PREP BOYS WATER POLO

CIFSDS Playoffs

OPEN DIVISION

A pair of state-ranked powers will decide not only the their city title , but the CIF San Diego Section crown as well, as La Jolla meets neighborhood rival The Bishop’s in Saturday’s Open Division finale. Both schools are ranked in the Top Ten in California. Thus, the ousting of East County’s Valhalla and Grossmont didn’t come as a surprise, but it still was a solid season for the Grossmont Conference rivals in reaching in the Open Division bracket. Although both lost in the Round-of-8, they both had a chance to meet in the consolation final after Valhalla topped powerful Carlsbad, 15-7. However, the Foothillers just missed in an overtime setback to Poway,11-10. In Division I, Patrick Henry was upset at home in the first round, falling to Westview, 9-8.
