MISSION VALLEY – In a back-and-forth game in the early going, the San Diego Legion turned on the jets in the secondhalf to double-up the visiting Chicago Hounds, 48-24, in Major League Rigby action Sunday (Apr. 16) at Snapdragon stadium.
The legion (8-1 overall) has now captured seven straight contests and lead the MLR West Division by a full game over the Houston Sabercats and Seattle Seawolves at the midway point of the regular season.
Houston visits San Diego in two weeks (Sun., Apr.30; time TBA) in what should prove to be, obviously, an important match for both ballclubs.
San Diego led at the half, 17-14, then burst away with a 21-point advantage in the second half. Eight different players scored trys for the Legion. Two of the better ones are next.
