SPRING VALLEY — Behind a historic performance in the sand pit and overwhelming depth on the track, the Steele Canyon Cougars captured the Grossmont Conference girls title on Friday, May 8 with 175 points.

The Lead Angle: A State-Level Leap Freshman Livia Allison (Steele Canyon) stole the show in the Long Jump. Her winning leap of 19-02.25 is a new personal best and currently ranks as the #15 mark in the state of California. She led a Cougars sweep of the podium in that event, signaling a dominant postseason ahead.

Other Elite Highlights:

Hurdle Sweep: Grossmont’s Gabrielle Thomas was untouchable, posting a blistering 13.69 in the 100m hurdles and 43.59 in the 300m hurdles.
Sprint Phenom: Helix freshman Ava Parker swept the 200m (23.89) and 400m (54.22), both marks ranking among the best in the San Diego Section.
